Dress rehearsal (in great sound) for the famous Carmen production that was to be Göran Gentele 's debut production as he took over from Rudolph Bing as General Director of the Metropolitan. It was not to be. A milestone in the history of the Met and of the greatest interest, as there are very few live performances of Leonard Bernstein conducting from the pit.
