Since 1984, the authors have consulted with hundreds of disability groups and individuals who have disabilities to produce Guidelines: How to Write and report About People with Disabilities.
I’m sharing a brief synopsis of this must-know, must-practice, and best practice guideline document. This guide presents the latest terminology preferred by people in the disability community.
The authors and contributors request that you use these guidelines when writing and reporting about people with disabilities.
This is the 8th edition of this publication, which is designed at the University of Kansas’s Research & Training Center on Independent Living.
