"The Charles W. Morgan is the Oldest American Merchant Ship Afloat- and the Last Surviving American Wooden WhaleShip. When Launched in 1841 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Morgan was One of More than 600 American Ships Hunting Whales to Supply the World's Need for Oil for Lubrication and llumination. Named for it's Origional Owner, Whaling Merchant Charles W. Morgan, the Vessel Made 37 Voyages During it's 80-Year Whaling Career."

Retired in 1921.
Restored and Set Sail in 2014 For a Ceremonial 38th Voyage.
Permanently Resides in Mystic Connecticut Seaport Middle Warf.
