This is a really special cymbal. It’s an early example of a transition stamp ride that is from the late 1940s. I’ve owned it for about 20 years.
The varied lathing, the hand-hammering, the patina, all beautiful. No keyholing, no cracks, no repairs. There are a few minor dings in the edge but they’ve been there for decades, far longer than I’ve owned the cymbal and they’ve never changed in any way. It’s a beautiful vintage cymbal.
Good definition, tons of wash, a clear stick tone sits above a dark and wobbly undercurrent. It’s really spectacular. I’m selling it because I’ve owned it long enough and I want someone to own it who will play it and enjoy it. It’s a hard one for me to part with, but ultimately I have too many cymbals and I don’t play them enough to warrant hanging onto them all.
