Join me as I more closely duplicate a very old spring cut off tool design from 100+ years ago and adapt it to a quick change tool post. Time will tell but so far the results are nothing short of amazing.

NOTE FOR USING:
1) The feed rate I used was .001 to .002 per revolution and it seemed to work well.
2) RPM is set for the surface speed of 100 SFPM or slightly less (very forgiving)
3) The tool angle was set to about 5-degrees in all my tests and it worked well (experiment)
4) Tool was grounds to about 5 or 6 degrees
5) The blade Stick-out needs to be 1" and no less *
6) Oil is a must. The little needle tip bottle like I used in the video is ideal.
I know this seems counterintuitive but it works. When the blade is shorter it effects the amount of pressure needed to deflect the blade and it chatter.
