AT THE TIME OF HIPHOP'S INCEPTION.. Unknown to many, Most Puerto Ricans and Puerto Rican gangs was into LATIN ROCK, Salsa and their own Puerto Rican cultural music & dance... Puerto Rican youth like the Ghetto Brothers was performing as live Salsa bands out on The Bronx streets..Those live Salsa bands on the street was not playing James brown funk soul and R&B music associated with the start of HIPHOP as DJ Phase mentions 1:10 ... AT THAT TIME, Puerto Ricans had a "Rocking" dance culture that was totally separate from B.Boys Breakin and what us FBA was doing with the Culture of HIPHOP .. The "Puerto Rican "Rocking crews".. AT THAT TIME, WAS NOT into B.Boy Breakin HIPHOP... LATER ON, after HIPHOP was in already in motion, those Puerto Rican "Rocking crews" transferred over and got into B.Boy'n HIPHOP... Those "Rocking Crews" took breakdance to another level..Same thing with Ruby Dee Charlie Chase and Disco wiz... HIPHOP was already in full motion when they made their great contributions.. So key points to understand..
1. YES There was ONE or TWO Puerto Ricans with Brown skin or Afros at the START of HIPHOP.... Looking like us Dressing like us Acting like us
2. Puerto Rican CULTURE had absolutely NOTHING to do with STARTING HIPHOP
3. Puerto Rican B.Boys (Rockers) and Puerto Rican Pioneers like Ruby Dee Charlie Chase Disco Wiz etc, made great contributions TO HIPHOP, AFTER HIPHOP was already in full motion
