Language Arts Curriculum Picks | Play Based Multisensory Learning at Home

Our Language Arts Curriculum Picks + Supplements 📚 2025-2026

Next up in our homeschool lineup is our Language Arts curriculum: Logic of English Foundations C & D. This will be our main program for first grade, and we’re excited to continue after seeing so much growth during kindergarten with our late talker.

I specifically searched for a curriculum that would support our speech delay journey, and Logic of English checked all the boxes. It’s a play based, multisensory program that combines phonics, handwriting, spelling, and reading in a way that’s engaging and easy to follow. It gave just the right amount of challenge and offered instruction that made sense for both my child and me.

It also worked especially well for our son who benefits from wiggle breaks and hands on learning. The games, movement, and built in flexibility made it a great fit for his learning style.

I also plan on supplementing Logic of English Foundations C and D with some extra hands on fun using the LOVERY Part 2 & 3 Reading Skill Set kits.

The phonics games are a perfect match for the concepts we’re covering, and we’ll also be reading through the decodable books and chapter books that come in the set. It’s a great way to add more play based, engaging learning to our homeschool language arts routine!

In addition to our core language arts curriculum, I’m planning to supplement with a few different workbooks this year.

These will be used as independent work throughout the week, giving my son the chance to build confidence and practice skills at his own pace.

I’ll be rotating the workbooks as needed, depending on what he’s ready for and interested in. It’s all about keeping things flexible and supportive while encouraging more independent learning!
