The United Farm Workers (UFW) —a group founded in the 1960s by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta—are true heroes to us at World Central Kitchen. They’re the ones who grow and pick our fruits and vegetables, the ones who keep food on our tables every day of the year. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, our team worked with the United Farm Workers Foundation to make sure that these essential workers had meals to feed their families—supporting local restaurants in the process. Watch the video to learn about the UFW-WCK partnership and understand what life is like in the fields.
