7 Things I HATE about Samsung Frame TV PRO (FULL Review)

I've reviewed nearly every iteration of the Samsung Frame TV, since it was first released back in 2017, and I know a lot about it… and since millions of you have seen those videos I decided it was time to buy this 2025 Pro version and test it out for myself so you can see if it might be worth it for you. Particularly because Samsung now has more competition in this art-TV category.

So what's new with the Samsung The Frame TV Pro, is it better than previous versions or is Samsung just jumping on the Pro Label bandwagon? What are the overall pros and cons and can I recommend it for you?

I’ll quickly touch on the basics of a Frame TV for those who might be newer to the concept. In essence this is a TV that doesn't look like a TV; when it's not in use playing ultra high definition 4K video and TV shows, the screen shows highly realistic and super high resolution artworks. Thanks to a special coating on the screen, you're not simply getting a screensaver, you're actually getting a display that melts into the background and genuinely becomes part of your decor. Customizable wooden frames, and an included flush mount with no-gap lets you make the screen disappear into your space, or pop like real artwork.


What’s new?
I'm going to quickly cover what the new features are with the Frame Pro version. For starters the one connect box is now wireless… and I'll explain in more detail what that means, momentarily.

The display panel technology has also been updated; technically speaking the regular frame uses a QLED panel, while the pro version uses ‘’Neo QLED with Mini LED backlighting’…

Refresh rate on the pro version is also higher at 144hz (the regular Frame is 120hz) meaning it should be better able to handle faster action sequences and potentially even gaming. Samsung is also touting ‘enhanced AI features’… but I'll see what that actually translates to in practice.
Samsung The Frame Pro is available in only 3 sizes: 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch.

That's what's new with this version. Now let's get to what it's like to own one…

Set up & Installation
If you're new to this TV the installation is not all that difficult. If you have an older model you might be disappointed to find that—Frustration Number one— the bracket has been altered just enough to make it slightly incompatible with the new Pro version, so no re-using the old mounts.
Previously known as the ‘no gap wall mount’, you'll affix two mounting brackets onto your wall and a paper template included in the box makes this easier. Then attach to metal loops to the back of the TV. The loops will hang on the wall brackets to provide a stable yet flat support system for the TV that also offers a small amount of adjustability so you can get things square. Then you need to plug the TV in to power.

We had the TV installed and mounted in about an hour.
Once the heavy lifting is done you'll plug in the new One Connect Box to power also, and get the TV onto your Wi-Fi network. From there you'll need to set up a handful of accounts and permissions and logins but you'll largely be ready to go.



‘Wireless’ One Connect Box
The most significant update in the Pro model is the new Wireless One Connect Box that comes with your Frame TV Pro. But this isn’t what it seems… and don’t let what you can’t see here in my set up fool you…


With the Samsung Frame TV Pro here, Samsung will tell you it made a huge leap for all of us, by getting rid of the translucent wire completely with their new Wireless One Connect box. But the joke is on all of us because—Frustration Number 2— while you don't have a thin translucent wire running from the One Connect box to the TV, you do still have to get power to the TV and for that Samsung has supplied a fat white power cable, and good luck hiding that without conduit inside the wall. Or…Here’s hoping you're one of those lucky few who has a power outlet high up on the wall where you can connect this to keep it out of view.
