Ford Capri: Is the legend back?

After a 37 year absence, the Ford Capri has been resurrected. It’s electric only, based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, and is a mid-size SUV (not a sports car!) – as you can imagine die-hard blue oval fans are not too happy. While the new Capri is nothing like the original – and I can’t help but feel they’ve missed a trick here in terms of styling and handling – is does have a lot going for it. I lived with one for a week and this is what I thought.

What’s good?
Well equipped
Large boot
Decent range

What’s bad?
Handling and ride a mixed bag
Very expensive
Lacking in character
