The Ohio State University recently hosted the third annual Workshop for Research in Low-Earth Orbit — a two-day event that brought together scientists, students, and industry leaders to explore the next frontier of space research and commercialization.
Presented by Starlab Space Inc. and the Mitsubishi Corporation, the workshop featured keynote speakers like former NASA astronaut Kate Rubins, along with panels on space architecture, astronaut health, and the future of research in microgravity. Experts shared how living and working in space impacts science on Earth — and why the next generation of space infrastructure matters.
From student innovations to cutting-edge tech, this event showcased Ohio’s growing role in the space economy.
