Welcome to the last part of my Meghalaya Tourism Video Series. I visited Meghalaya’s Jaintia Hills in the month of March 2020 to create travel vlogs for you all. Meghalaya, which is said to be one of the most beautiful states in NorthEast India, has 3 main hills including Garo, Khasi & jaintia Hills. This series has mostly covered both famous and hidden parts of jaintia Hills including Jowai, Amlarem, Single Decker Bridge, and Asia’s last village – Mawlynnong, Tyrshi Waterfall, Phe-Phe Watrefall and a few hidden waterfalls of Meghalaya.
In this vlog, you would get to watch the beautiful Krang Suri Waterfall and a remote village in Meghalaya called Syndai. Krang Suri or Krang Shuri Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Meghalaya, Amlarem Division. The water is turquoise green or blue depending on the season, but be assure of one thing – you are sure to find crystal clear water in this waterfall too like all the famous waterfalls of Meghalaya. There are steps heading from the main road to waterfall and you are required to do a good trek for at least 30 minutes to reach near the Waterfall. The footpaths are made of red stones to make them look more appealing and no cement has been used in the construction of the footpath. There is also a Zip-Lining center near the waterfall ☺
After spending good one hour near the Krang Suri Waterfall, I headed to Syndai village to pay a visit to the hidden cave in the village. Meghalaya is mainly famous for two things with many other experiences to offer – Waterfalls and Caving. One should totally spend a few extra days in Meghalaya to experience caving as the experience is unique. Syndai village also comes under Amlarem Division of Jaintia Hills, close to Jowai. This village doesn’t even have a population of 1000. There are barely 150 houses in the village and that talks about the size and density of this village. In the past, Syndai Cave used to be a hideout place for people of Jaintia Hills whenever they had a war with the foreign invaders.
This concludes my 6 days trip to Jaintia Hills.
