1962 Chevrolet Biscayne 2dr
VIN: 21211S319375
Engine: 409 V8
Color: Bronze
Originally owned and raced by NHRA Hall of Famer Hubert Platts, as the "Lil General".
Hubert first ordered this 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne to be the lightest and most competitive 409 in the stock class of drag racing. It is extremely rare with its radio delete, heater delete, rear seat delete and trim delete. It is unlikely another factory ordered car lacking these options is available anywhere. In its day, Hubert had the car tuned by "Dyno Don Nicholson" who improved the car to be extremely competitive and ready to beat anything else in the 1/4 mile.
Hubert owned the car from new through 2012 when he sold it to a restorer in Georgia, where it underwent a 2 year restoration process to be restored to its original glory as it was raced!
Modifications during current ownership:
As this car was restored to as it was when raced, it lacked certain features, which have been added/modified for street driving.
Side View Mirrors
T500 Powered Steering Box
Brake bias proportioning adjustable valve
Lowered front springs to stock height
Hotchiks Front & Rear Sway Bar
We are the third owner of this prized Biscayne. It is available at auction on BringATrailer.com
