Slab-building is the only way I can get deep relief printing onto mugs, which seems to me like an appropriate technique for salt-firing [I've started to make some bowls like this also]- like those German Bellarmine jugs. Quite a long video- I hope not too long. It should be self-explanatory [despite my head/hands getting in the way occasionally] so I left it wordless [enjoy the Klezmer music]. Watch it again if anything's unclear. The joining slip is my deflocculated/reflocculated recipe which doesn't need cross-hatching- I made a video of how to make it but haven't edited it yet. Finished mugs are slipped [a basic salt slip is ballclay/china clay 50/50 + cobalt or iron for colour] and bisced, then glazed inside.Hope this is useful/instructive/entertaining. Your interest is appreciated!
