Welcome to a new year of Talk Heathen! We have Jamie The Blind Limey joining Richard Gilliver to start off this new season!

Anthony in TN was recommended by a youtube channel to call in to consider god’s existence. He proposes the Day-Year Principle, where a day in biblical prophecy represents a year. He points out people in the 1800s prophesied the fall of the ottoman empire using this method. You are cherry picking this guy's one win, in your own eyes, and ignore his failed end of the world prediction?

Gary in GA questions the validity of the biblical gospels. He cites that they were in Greek, anonymous authors, unproven Jesus, etc. We agree, even when trying to steelman the gospels, you can’t get past the inconsistencies in the resurrection story.

Andrew in FL claims the philosophy of the apostle Paul beat out all other philosophies, so his teachings were true. We can’t trace the way modern society works to Paul’s philosophies. A lot of ideals predate christianity. Oh interesting twist, Andrew is on the right track of thinking now that he is older and sees some of the flaws of following those teachings. Good call!
