Flip and Drag Technique and Swipe Technique Acrylic Pour on a Blue Heart with Black Base. Fluid Art

I wanted to create a an acrylic pour with the flip and drag technique and the swipe technique but, on the same piece - on one of the new MDF hearts that my husband cut for me. I also wanted to use blues with a black base, I love my blues.

I used a disposable shot cup for the flip and drag and a palette knife for the swipe, but I kind of swiped in reverse. I wanted to make sure to have cells and lacing and I was not disappointed, I am so happy with this piece and it felt so effortless to create, my favourite kind. A heart in cold colours with such warmth and beauty, I love it.

Paints used:
Amsterdam standard in oxide black, sky blue light, prussian blue and specialities in pewter. Pebeo iridescent in blue black. Arteza pearl in sea green. Colourarte primary elements in snap dragon (one of my favourites), blue bayou and periwinkle.

Swipe colour mixed with Australian floetrol only.

My pouring medium is 50% Floetrol, 30-35% Liquitex Pouring Medium and 15-20% Water. Generally, the paints are 2:1 (pouring medium to paint) and if needed I will thin further with more water to get the right consistency. Again, some paints require less pouring medium than others. My ratio also varies depending on the paint brand and even the colour, but this is the most uniform figures I have. I hope it helps.
