The Beef started around 2009, as part of 50 Cents problems with Fat Joe. When 50 was promoting his album Before I Self Destruct, he felt like DJ Khaled and Fat Joe were purposely not playing his music in Miami. 50 took it personally, and went as far as writing DJ Khaled a poem, claiming that he is the one who slashed his tires, that he knows where he is at, and even mentioned knowing where his mother works and stays. Then it got darker; 50 released a video showing a man following DJ Khaled’s mom, even filming her while she was at her job. At some point, 50 and Khaled ran into each other on tour, and Khaled did even dare look 50 Cent in the eyes.
