When I was looking for strings for my Argentine Ronroco, it was really very confusing.

There is the baritone Charango (I think a development of the great Bolivian Mauro Nuñez) which is called Ronroco in Argentina and came to world fame through the work of Gustavo Santaolalla. There is the "Bolivian" Ronroco which is probably a development of the brothers Gonzalo and Wilson Hermosa.

If I am not mistaken, the ronroco in Argentina with the tuning DD / GG / bB / EE / BB is called "Charangon" or baritone Charango in other regions of the Andes. It has a scale length of about 45 cm.

The Ronroco of the Hermosa brothers is tuned Gg (or g/G) / Cc (or c/C) / EE / AA / EE. So exactly one octave lower than a Charango (but with a different composition of the octavated strings).

There is also the Charango Mediana, also tuned an octave below the Charango (and again a different composition of the octavated strings)

String manufacturers and sellers often use the terms "Argentine" or "Bolivian" to describe their strings, so I named my videos accordingly. My point was to find the right strings for the right instrument, and to give some guidance to musicians who found themselves in the same situation as me.
