Here is a rare recording of Lady Day during her second tour of Europe in 1958. She is sharing a bill at the famed Olympia in Paris with former Basie bandmate Jimmy Rushing. There are seven known songs that she sings during this November 1958 date but only one is available and here it is, "Billie's Blues."
Although this is near the end of her life, Lady seems to be in good spirits here as she is heard laughing before she starts singing. Her voice may be frail but she hasn't lost her phrasing and this is a pretty good rendition of one of her own blues songs in my estimation.
