Asantehene's Last Warning to Dormaahene, Sampa Is For Me!

In this video, an Asante chief who serves the Asantehene weighs in on the controversy over who is the rightful occupant of the Sampa stool. He has made it categorically clear that some chiefdoms in the Bono region of Ghana have dared the Asantehene so much that they will receive the needed response soon. He has cautioned the Dormaahene, Sumahene, and others to desist from misinforming the public about the circumstances leading to the Asantehene's rejection of Yaw Sammor-Duah as chief of Sampa, the overlord. The question of who should be recognized as the Paramount Chief of Sampa has been the subject of many legal battles. The legal battle began on 14 June 2024, when Nana Samgba Gyafla II filed a suit against the Bono Regional House of Chiefs (1st respondent) and the National House of Chiefs (2nd respondent). The Sampa Traditional Council and Nana Yaw Sammor-Duah II were also listed as interested parties in the case. Gyafla argued that after being selected as the Paramount Chief of the Sampa Traditional Area and swearing an oath of allegiance to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Bono Regional House of Chiefs refused to gazette his name in the National Register of Chiefs. Instead, they allegedly submitted the chieftaincy declaration forms to Nana Yaw Sammor-Duah II, who had been sworn in in 2015.
