In the heart of Turkana, within the Kakuma Refugee Camp, a remarkable initiative is taking flight. It's called Save the Hives, Save the Lives: Agriculture for Life Projects. This endeavor is not just a project; it's a beacon of hope.
Implemented by ‪@kakumabeesocialentreprise4748‬ and assisted by Widu Africa, the mission is clear: to raise awareness and protect the precious bee population while promoting the practice of smart agriculture. But it doesn't stop there; this project is a lifeline for the community's economic well-being.
Bees, these humble pollinators, play a pivotal role in nurturing our environment. They are the silent heroes behind the lush fields of crops and the vibrant colors of our flowers. But their importance extends far beyond pollination. Bees provide the golden nectar of life – honey – and other treasures like bee venom, propolis, pollen, and various bee-related products.

Currently we have 55 modern Beehives and the goal is ambitious, to acquire 1000 modern beehives in 1year, setting the stage for the production of 10,000 kilograms of honey in every 4 months and an array of bee-derived marvels. It's not just about honey; it's about sustainability, self-reliance, and a brighter future.
