On more than one occasion Shawn quoted Erasmus when he was considering a pricy book purchase. I always think of him when I hear these lines: "When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left, I buy food and clothes.
As posted on my channel page and instagram Friday in regards to the thumbnail:
Our conversations are over 💔 In his final weeks Shawn was enjoying experimenting with AI. We bantered back and forth about which scenes in A Christmas Carol he could get AI to properly recreate and how well scenes from his poetry collection were coming to life. I sometimes rolled my eyes at his creations, but when he sent me this hilarious picture of us in victorian attire having tea I saved it to my phone.
Conversations with Shawn about books did feel like having tea with a kindred spirit. I will forever think of my friend Shawn whenever I read our mutually beloved A. Edward Newton, an author that Shawn introduced me to years ago.
