Stykkishólmur
A picturesque seaside town with colorful houses, a lovely modern church overlooking the bay, and a lively harbor that serves as a gateway to Breiðafjörður’s islands. It’s a great place to grab a coffee and soak in small-town Icelandic charm.

Lava Rock Formations – Snæfellsnesvegur
Driving along Route 54 (Snæfellsnesvegur), you’ll pass surreal lava fields and jagged rock formations that look like something from another planet — remnants of ancient volcanic activity, now softened by moss and time.

Kirkjufell & Kirkjufellsfoss
Possibly Iceland’s most photographed mountain, Kirkjufell rises like a perfect cone beside the sea. Just across the road, the charming Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall provides the iconic foreground for one of Iceland’s most famous landscape views.

Búðakirkja – The Black Church
This historic black wooden church stands alone against vast lava fields and open skies in Búðir. Its minimalist beauty and isolated setting make it one of Iceland’s most hauntingly beautiful landmarks.

Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge
A hidden canyon tucked into the cliffs, Rauðfeldsgjá invites the curious to explore its narrow, mossy interior. A short hike leads you into this dramatic gorge, where light filters through high stone walls.

Arnarstapi
A small coastal village with stunning cliffs, basalt arch formations, and a scenic walking path to Hellnar. It’s a perfect spot for birdwatching, photography, and enjoying the wild ocean landscape.

Lóndrangar

Svörtuloft Lighthouse
Perched on the rugged western edge of the peninsula, this bright orange lighthouse stands out starkly against the black lava cliffs and blue ocean. A truly remote and atmospheric place to end your journey.
