It was a long dark night in Jerusalem
You could almost hear the sound of evil laughter in the air
The prince of darkness boasted of his trophy in the grave
And the power that it took put Him there
But the Sunday sun came up showing Jesus was gone
There could be no doubt from that moment on

Lord of Life He's alive
Triumphant and alive again
Proving death is not the end

He fought the fight and won the war
The grave has no hold anymore
On those belonging to the Lord of Life

An angel moved the stone
So that all could see
The tomb was nothing more than just a temporary place
Then Mary looked inside
As she turned to go away
She met her risen Saviour face to face
He was back just as He said
And she fell at His feet
In worship and in awe
For she knew He was indeed
