President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru of Japan deliver their joint leaders’ statement at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace on April 29, 2025.
The Japanese Prime Minister is in the country for a two-day official visit aimed at deepening and expanding cooperation across economic development, political and defense engagements, as well as fostering people-to-people exchanges.
Prior to the official visit, President Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Ishiba met in Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits in October 2024.
