[4K] Futakuchi Pass 🍁 Autumn Leaves in 2024 / 二口峠の紅葉🍂✨

二口峠（ふたくちとうげ）は、宮城県と山形県の県境に位置し、標高934メートルの美しい峠です🌄。古くから仙台と山形を結ぶ重要な交通路として利用されていました。明治時代（1882年〜）にトンネルで両県を繋ぐ関山隧道（現国道48号線）がこの地の北方に開通したことで二口峠は衰退が進み現在に至っています。

多くの人に忘れられていた二口峠ではありましたが、平成28年度(2016年)から始まった宮城県側二口林道の舗装工事により、山形県側も含めた約19kmの道路が全線舗装され、新たな命を吹き込まれました🛣️。現在では、山形の山寺や仙台の秋保温泉などの観光地を結ぶルートとして、また地域の歴史的・文化的価値を伝える場としての役割が期待されています🌿。

この一帯の二口渓谷では、動画の最後に映る磐司岩も含め、絶景の紅葉を楽しむことができます🍂。アクセスしやすいにも関わらずまだあまり知られていないこの場所は、秋の穴場スポットです🚗💨。

紅葉は10月上旬に二口峠から始まり、徐々に麓の秋保エリアまで広がり、11月上旬頃まで楽しめます。今回の撮影では、いつもより早めに山頂付近を中心に撮影しました。麓の空撮はまた機会があればご紹介いたします📸。(2024年10月中旬 宮城側から撮影)

Futakuchi Pass, located on the border between Miyagi and Yamagata Prefectures, stands at an elevation of 934 meters and is a beautiful mountain pass🌄. It has historically served as an important transportation route connecting Sendai and Yamagata. The decline of the pass began with the opening of the Sekiyama Tunnel (now National Route 48) to the north during the Meiji era (starting in 1882).

Although the Futakuchi Forest Road had been largely forgotten, a paving project that began in fiscal year 2016 revitalized approximately 19 km of road, including sections in Yamagata Prefecture, breathing new life into the area🛣️. Today, it serves as a route connecting tourist destinations such as Yamadera in Yamagata and Akiu Onsen in Sendai, and plays a role in conveying the historical and cultural value of the region🌿.

In the surrounding area of Futakuchi Valley, including the Banji Rock featured at the end of the video, visitors can enjoy breathtaking autumn foliage🍂. Despite its easy accessibility, this location remains a lesser-known gem, perfect for a fall getaway🚗💨.

The autumn leaves begin to show around early October at Futakuchi Pass and gradually spread to the Akiu area at the base, remaining enjoyable until early November. For this shoot, we focused on the areas near the summit earlier than usual. Aerial footage of the base will be introduced next time if there's an opportunity📸.
