A short amateur 16mm film showing Vienna scenes over the winter of 1946/7. This was a particularly cold and harsh winter, and there were serious food shortages to come in the spring. The footage shows many bomb damaged buildings, which had yet to be reconstructed during this period when the allied forces occupied Austria (only coming to an end in 1955 I think).
There are no credits, so I have no idea who filmed this, but I note that later in the film (not shown) are offices described as "Film Offices in Graz" (also damaged), and I have to wonder if the specific nature of the mention of this location might mean the film-maker worked with film in some way.
