In the city of Daliang, the Tianxiang Tower is a place where even the powerful and influential nobles are willing to taste its delicacies. Within the Tianxiang Tower are two legendary figures: Zhu Chengbi, the enchanting chef with both culinary skills and beauty that captivate all, and Chang Qing, the charming and eloquent young master of the accounting room. They are recognized by all as a pair of bickering but fond adversaries. Together, Zhu Chengbi and Chang Qing experience thrilling events, with Chang Qing observing Zhu Chengbi create dishes like "Ran Yikuai," "Hu Yanfeng," "Zhang Jianzhu," "Tiandi Chun," "Furong Yan," "Wuchang Gong," "Shuangsheng Gu," "Tongxin Qian," and "Qianji Mian," each dish containing a story, reflecting a moral lesson, and revealing aspects of human nature.

Ultimately, in a desperate attempt to save his own life, the deranged Wang of Langya devises a scheme that leads to Zhu Chengbi and Chang Qing severely harming each other. This forces Zhu Chengbi to create an elixir for immortality to prolong her life, and greedily attempt to release the Black Kirin, leading to the destruction of the Lotus Heart Tower and the city of Noxia. Eventually, Zhu Chengbi transforms into a gluttonous monster, losing her sanity and swallowing Chang Qing whole. Within the darkness of the gluttonous monster, Chang Qing finally finds the partly awakened Zhu Chengbi and revives her. They start anew, beginning everything from scratch.
