The research is based on scholarly work that emphasizes how communication, trust, and cultural preservation are necessary tools for authentic storytelling. This research raises concerns that once a story is retold, it may lose it’s original meaning. The purpose of this study is to examine how storytelling was created as a way to communicate with one another, connecting people through shared experiences. These stories are more than just words, they have the unique ability to carry values, beliefs, and memories of their past. Just by talking stories, their history stays alive, often shining light on these overlooked voices. These overlooked voices have the most impactful story to tell. As people evolved, so did storytelling, from cave painting to grunts and eventually full spoken languages. Communication is the essence of what allows people to pass knowledge, eventually becoming the first signs of culture. In today's world, storytelling is no longer limited to still pieces of art and spoken languages; it has the ability to come to life through the use of film and photography. As powerful as storytelling can be, there is one concern that researchers have pointed out, once a story is retold, it has the chance to be misrepresented, losing the storyteller's original purpose. Despite everything, storytelling has the power to preserve history, values and give people a sense of belonging.
