I’m Riya, a contributor in Elite Winter of Code (EWOC) 2026.
In this video, I explain the complete contribution process step-by-step, based on my own experience.
This video is specially for beginners who are confused about how to start contributing to open source.
🔹 Steps to Contribute in Elite Winter of Code 2026
1️⃣ Visit the official EWOC website
2️⃣ Generate your EWOC ID card
3️⃣ Go to the Projects section
4️⃣ Choose a project according to your tech stack
5️⃣ Fork the project
6️⃣ Clone it to your system
7️⃣ Read README.md, CONTRIBUTION.md, and Code of Conduct
8️⃣ Run the project locally
9️⃣ Find or raise an issue
🔟 Make the required UI or backend changes
1️⃣1️⃣ Add changes using git add
1️⃣2️⃣ Commit changes using git commit -m
1️⃣3️⃣ Push the branch using git push origin branch-name
1️⃣4️⃣ Open GitHub → Click Compare & Pull Request
1️⃣5️⃣ Write a proper PR title and description
1️⃣6️⃣ Wait for PR review and merge
1️⃣7️⃣ After merge, check your points updated on the EWOC website
