If you watch as many reels and shorts as I do then you probably already know this story

There's a tribe in South Africa that uses a very interesting technique to find new water sources

The first thing they do... is catch a baboon

So they go to the ant hills where the baboons all hang out

But the ant hills in Africa are like 20 feet tall

The ants are still the same size though

Anyway, the bushman digs a hole in the side of the ant hill though and throws some lemon seeds inside of it

The baboons are curious creatures but also cautious, so they watch from afar

Eventually they can't stand themselves and they have to check out the hole

As they get closer they can smell the lemon

So they stick a hand in the hole

Now, I don't know how the bushman knows, but he dug that hole EXACTLY... PRECISELY the right size

And the baboon's relaxed hand fits inside, but when he grabs the seeds it changes the size of his hand, making it bigger, and he can't pull his hand out

He doesn't know enough to let go

And the bushman simply throws a rope around him and ties him to a tree

Now the baboon is a prisoner

The bushman feeds the baboon fruit that's laced with salt

Like a mean amount of salt... bc they're in a desert

And of course

The baboon gets thirsty... really really thirsty

So the bushman just unties him

And the baboon immediately takes off... straight to his water source

NOW

The point of the story is that sometimes you have to go through some seemingly unnecessary steps, beyond what "scientific research" (which is mostly bought and paid for) in order to achieve the end goal

However that's not the point this time

Go back to the baboon sticking his hand in the hole

He could have gotten his hand out

But he wanted those seeds

All he had to do what let go

That's valuable

Sometimes in life, in order to escape the traps

You have to let go

For myself... I'm not necessarily talking about...

the ring dinger music
or the crack compilation outro
or even writing the Prescription Description

But then again... nothing lasts forever.

Ouch LOL
