Should you build a big main bus in Satisfactory… or spread production across the map and use trains to bring everything together?
In this Fix-It Pioneer Support episode, I break down the real tradeoffs between a centralized “megabase main bus” approach and a distributed network of satellite factories feeding a central hub. I’ll show examples from my own saves to illustrate how quickly a main bus can become complex (especially with Satisfactory’s 3D building), and why it can still be convenient to have everything in one place.
What you’ll learn
Whether a main bus with trains importing resources is actually viable
Why complexity and space issues ramp up fast in a central megabase
A beginner-friendly alternative: build locally near resources, then ship parts in
How a train network + “sushi belt” sorting can keep a central work area clean
Pros/cons of belting across the map vs building a large rail system
My recommendation (especially for a first playthrough)
Start with local production hubs near nodes, then use trains (or other transport) to deliver to a central area for assembly and access. It scales cleaner, uses the whole map, and helps avoid running out of space early.
