How to make New England Clam Chowder, The Best Clam Chowder. Prepared with whole not chopped clams.

This IS the best clam chowdah. Inspired by how my mom would prepare hers I load this chowder up with whole soft shell clams not chopped or minced clams.
Ingredients:
3 cups whole shucked and cleaned soft shelled clams
3 slices of thick sliced bacon
3 stalks of celery fine chopped
1 large sweet onion chopped
2 potatoes diced
1/2 stick of butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
about 4 tbsp flour
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp dill
about 3 cups reserve clam broth
about 3 cups of heavy cream
to make this gluten free omit the flour and thicken chowder with a cornstarch slurry.
to cut down on fat you may substitute the heavy cream with fat free half and half
