About Nasar Abadey
Nasar Abadey was the founder and bandleader of SUPERNOVA®, a long-running project blending traditional African rhythms with bebop, fusion, modal, and free-form approaches to jazz. He also taught in the Jazz Studies program at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore). Over his career, he performed with artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Pharoah Sanders, Charlie Rouse, and Eartha Kitt, among others.
About Kush Abadey
Kush Abadey began his professional career early—joining Wallace Roney’s quintet at age 16—and has since worked with artists including Ravi Coltrane, Chris Potter, Melissa Aldana, Joel Ross, Tomasz Stańko, Jeremy Pelt, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, and Buster Williams, among others.
