SOUTH is a meditative documentary by Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman (1950-2015). Released in 1999, the film addresses the dragging murder of James Byrd Jr. at the hands of three white supremacists. Patrick just finished watching it and talks about why it's such a subtly powerful film.
