I'm giving you a first look at the new Ultimate Direction FK Ultra Pole and FK Trekking Pole.
I also wanted to show you all how trekking pole stiffness is affected by pole diameter and single piece vs. multi-piece design. Aluminum vs. carbon matters when it comes to degree of failure (not shown) - and there is of course a weight difference between them - but you can achieve a stiff pole with both materials.
Why apply 26.8lbs? Because that's how much a 24 pack of beer, an empty bear can, and a backpack weigh.
