How We Wired Our Victron System | CAMPER VAN ELECTRICS | Mercedes Vario Conversion | VAN BUILD EP30

Strap yourself in for a total Victron information overload! Max is turning into a Victron Connect expert and has disappeared into the App for a good week now... he's been setting up all our components to run our 12/24V system, manage our 4 leisure batteries and be ready for our solar system. We can also now plug the van into the wall!

This week we have installed; our Victron Battery Balancer which as we have four 12V batteries wired in series-parallel ensures that the 'upper' and 'lower' pairs of batteries are charged evenly; our Victron Orion-Tr Smart Isolated DC to DC Charger 24/24-17a which allows us to make the most of any excess power created by our alternator while our van is running and uses it to charge our leisure batteries; our Victron MultiPlus Compact 24/1200/25-16 which is the heart of our electrical system, charging our leisure batteries while we are hooked up to mains/shore AC power, pushing that AC power through to our AC electrical sockets if we use them while we are hooked up, and also inverting our 24V DC to AC power for our electrical sockets if we need to use them whilst off grid, and it can do all of that seamlessly! Sophie has been getting lots of tricky jobs done this week - the most exciting of which is our under-counter lighting which is a 24V 120-LED per meter Flame White (2000K) LED Tape encased in LED profile with an opal diffuser all to create a beautiful cozy glow in our home on wheels, but you'll need to wait until next week to see that fully up and running, so make sure you hit that subscribe button so you don't miss out!
