Today, we're putting the Aguila 38grs HP Subsonic ammunition to the test. This Mexican manufacturer of .22lr cartridges is widely used in the States. The firearm chosen for this evaluation is the Bergara B14R, renowned for its precision. However, today's results were disappointing. Despite the rifle's accuracy, achieving good results proved challenging, if not impossible. Notably, there was a significant inconsistency in bolt-closing force, indicating potential irregularities in bullet diameter. This inconsistency poses a considerable problem for precision shooting. Equipped with a Meopta Optika 6 scope, barreled B14R action mounted on an MDT Oryx chassis with Audere 34mm high-performance rings, and paired with an A-Tec Wave suppressor, the setup seemed promising. Yet, even with these quality components, the test yielded unsatisfactory results. Despite minor wind conditions, the issues persisted, underscoring the importance of bullet consistency for precision.
