In a historic development, a delegation of the Arunachal Pradesh Chakma Youth Association (APCYA) today met Lt. Gen. Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (Retd), Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, marking the first time a Chakma delegation has formally met the Governor to present issues faced by the Chakma and Hajong communities in the state.
The delegation requested the Governor’s intervention to the issues being faced.
The delegation also reiterated the historical background of Chakma and Hajong settlement in Arunachal Pradesh as documented by the Government of India and upheld by the Supreme Court.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured his intervention.
