Sowing Grass Seed in June, Paddock Re-seeding, Cultivation Work, How to Seed a Lawn or Paddock

Today we're out on the John Deere 6R 215 to Power harrow the field we were rotovating in the last episode, with our folding Kuhn Power Harrow as we continue to prepare to reseed the paddock. We come across a problem with when we fit the Browns Harrow complete with Stocks Ag Air Seeder to the John Deere 6130R... there no power lead fitted to the tractor! So we fit a heavy duty power lead to the tractor and fit an Andison plug.

James ‪@PX_Farms‬ says “October drilling is for looser’s” well we bring it forward and drill grass in June… only the weather will decide if we’re winners or loosers now😂. Sadly we couldnt make their open day but wish all ‪@PX_Farms‬ the very best, there open day looks fantastic.

After Paul takes the Cambridge roller to the field and firms the seedbed with the folding 6m rolls Rick follows behind and sows the grass seed.

We demonstrate how to calibrate the seed drill and how to sow grass seed. We like to sow grass seed by sowing half the seed rate and covering the field twice with the seed drill to make sure there's good coverage of the grass seed.

The weather is warm and sunny but there's still moisture in the soil.... will the grass seed sown in June grow... there's rain forecast so it's got every chance !
