Impressions of Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos - So Far So Good?

This is not a full review of the Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos, but is merely my early game impressions based on the first chapter, broken into sections for "Things I Like," "Things I Dislike," and "Things I'm Uncertain of."

The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos is a total conversion mod for Gothic 2 that tells its own original story, set in its own original map with up to 100 hours or more of total content and a lot of all-new twists and improvements to the classic Gothic formula. As a fan-made project, the amount of work that's gone into it is impressive, and the overall quality is strong enough to make it feel like it could've been sold as an official Gothic game back in the day. It truly feels like Gothic and offers some of that nostalgic feeling of playing the original Gothic games for the first time, but in an all-new package. It does have some minor issues I've noticed, however, but they're easy to excuse given that it's a free mod with such good intentions, especially in light of how successful everything else is about it.

I realized pretty early in my playthrough that I wasn't going to have enough time to finish playing and reviewing Archolos before Elex 2 came out, and so I decided to put my COM playthrough on pause and write up some early impressions in the meantime. This video is based on having finished only the first chapter, so keep in mind that everything I say in this video consists of very early impressions that may not hold up over the whole game experience. I'm intending to come back and finish playing COM to give it more of a proper review, or at least doing a "Final Thoughts" video to complement this one later.
