油条豆浆征服记

我是英国人，来北京留学两年了。刚到时，北京是冬天，很冷，我走进食堂，被油炸的香气所吸引。第一次见油条(yóutiáo)，我指着说："这是？" 阿姨笑着说"是油条，刚出锅的，烫手！"
我买了两根，外带一杯豆浆，拿起一根兴奋地咬下去——咔嚓！ 碎渣掉进豆浆里。 一个声音从对面传来，"要掰开泡豆浆吃！"
于是，我把油条放进豆浆里。酥脆油条吸满热豆浆，咸香里渗出甜，太好吃了！
现在每天早起，就为这口，连店里阿姨都认识我了："闺女，老规矩？"
上周下雪，阿姨偷偷给我的豆浆加了红糖。原来油条可以甜咸通吃！

I’m British and have been studying in Beijing for two years now. When I first arrived, it was winter, and the cold hit me hard. One morning, I wandered into the cafeteria, drawn in by the sizzling aroma of something frying.

Pointing at the golden, twisted sticks in the glass counter, I asked, ‘What’s that?’ The auntie behind the counter grinned: ‘Youtiao! Fresh out of the oil—careful, they’re hot!’

I bought two sticks and a cup of soy milk. Excitedly, I took a big bite—crunch! Crumbs scattered everywhere, some plopping right into my soy milk. A voice across the table chuckled, ‘You’re supposed to break them into pieces and soak them in the soy milk!’

Following the advice, I dunked a section of youtiao. The crunchy youtiao soaked up the warm soy milk perfectly, the savory notes blending with a subtle sweetness—it was heavenly! Now I wake up early just for this ritual. The auntie even recognizes me: ‘Same as usual, sweetie?’

Last week, during a heavy snowfall, the auntie secretly added brown sugar to my soy milk. Turns out, youtiao can rock both sweet and salty flavors
