McFarlane DC Multiverse style Batman Returns BATMAN figure custom!

Or...An exercise in UTTER FRUSTRATION! This figure has been in the works so long, I can't remember when I started it, and then, only to have McFarlane announce the official release of the Batman Returns line...oh the pain!

Not one step of this custom figure was easy!
From acquiring the FLASH movie young Flash figure on Ebay, to the two times the charm cape episode where I tried to get one cape, only to have the Georgia segment of the US Postal Service (Our new Atlanta based transfer mail hub in Palmetto, GA and other parts) LOSE IT somewhere in transit!
I get that it was a small item, in a small package, but still, I had ordered countless capes and such before, and gotten all of them intact and on time.
Not this one!
Poor Batgirl31! So, she refunds me (all through Ebay!) and we start over. By this time, McFarlane announces the figure in their Batman Begins line, and all the work I had done was kind of moot.

I then am so fortunate to have a buddy that sent me the rest of the needed pieces, which came on the third release Batman 1989 figure, so I could actually get a belt, and usable hands and accessories, much less the needed cowl and mask! BIG components! Thanks again, Derrick!

So, I put it all together, over time, and it came out at long last!

I cover most all the work in the video, but one thing I forgot to mention, a small cosmetic point beyond all the dremeling and what-not on the mask to make the 89 one look like the Returns one, was that I had to broaden the open facial part of the mask, sort of sharpening the jawline, and adding some putty up under the chin, all of which is subtle, but really helps make it look more like sculptor Steve Wang's amazing Batcowl sculpt in the movie!
Big shoutout to Steve for a job well done! And to costume designers Bob Ringwood and Mary Vogt!

So, that all done, lots of dremeling, and carving etc., filling with putty etc., and the second cape arrives in time for me to finish the figure!

All hand painted with Vallejo paints, and coated well with Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear MATT finish spray!
