Der Geher in Hamburg: Wilstorf

I am Der Geher and I walk through Wilstorf in the borough of Harburg. Under the B-75 next to Continental I start walking in the direction of the church St. Francis Joseph. A small bell tower in a residential area and onto Winsener Straße. On the way to the Harburg city park it becomes greener and greener. The end of the path is then the view over the outer mill pond next to the swimming pool MidSommerland.

Already mentioned in 1202, the village name recalls a "folk cluster" around the village founder Wiltehard. In the 16th century, the village got its own mill after the Außenmühlenteich was dammed. Wilstorf was incorporated into Hamburg in 1888 and has been a district since 1937. Today, about 17,500 inhabitants live in the rather sprawling development.
