The twenty five year old had an estimated amount of fourteen drinks that night, his blood alcohol content reaching 0.28%, exceeding New York's legal limit by more than three times (0.08%). The man had drove two miles north in a southbound lane before colliding with the Flynn family's limousine, killing the driver, Stanley Rabinowitz (59) and Katie instantly. When her mother crawled out of the totaled limousine, she found the remains of her little girl. Her decapitated head was all that was left, so she clutched it and alerted the rest of the family of Katie's death with her screams. She had held onto the head until rescue workers had arrived and helped the Flynn family out of the wreckage.
