The Nagarwala Scandal is India's one of the most mysterious scandal takes place in 1971. Mr. Rustom Soharab Nagarwala, an ex-military officer was convicted for that scam.
Someone calls to the State Bank Of India, Sansad Road, Delhi Branch on May 24th 1971. Chief Cashier Vedprakash Malhotra received a call from a person whose voice is as same as PM Secretarian P.N.Haksar, he told him PM needed 60 Lakh rupees urgently for secret operation in Bangladesh. Call transferred from that person to another person, here story twisted. That another person sounds like Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Our Prime Minister of that time. Mr. Malhotra was instructed same by her too. The persons on call inform him the code to transfer the money. For code ''Bangladesh ka Babu' bank officer have to reply with the code 'bar at law'.
The Nagarwala arrested on the same day, there was no call by the PM or PMO that was the explanation by P.N.Haksar. Police case and 'Operation Toofan' led by the D.K.Kashyap, Hari Dev and A.K. Ghosh.
Nagarwala presented into the Court, Nagarwala's Judicial trial was fastest trial in the history of India. In that 10 minute trial Nagarwala convicted only on the basis of his statement.
After some month court reopens case and mysterious incidents took place. Police officer D.K.Kashyap died in a car accident, Mr. Nagarwala died in hospital after his lunch in February 1972. Marriage Desai reopens case in Janta Dal's governance period, but many questions remained unanswered.
