I recently hiked to the summit of Mount Saint Helens via the Ptarmigan Trail! It was an 8.6-mile hike with 4,684 feet of elevation gain (according to AllTrails – link below).
The hike was challenging, especially the uphill sections, but the views of the volcano’s crater and surrounding landscapes made it totally worth it. I really enjoyed the experience and highly recommend this hike if you’re up for the challenge.
