Floods devastate Texas hill country as death toll approaches 70

President Donald Trump has approved federal disaster assistance for the state of Texas to assist in recovery efforts after massive floods destroyed dozens of homes and killed nearly 70 people. The funding is available to affected individuals in Kerr County, with assistance including grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property, and various other recovery programs. Funding will also be available to state and local governments, as well as certain nonprofits, for emergency work and the repair of critical infrastructure, as well as the repair or replacement of facilities.
