PREVENTING A C-SECTION | 3 MIDWIFE TIPS TO DECREASE YOUR RISK

Before watching this video, let’s all get on the same page that c-sections save lives. Period.

However, c-section rates in the US are considerably higher than the World Health Organizations recommendations. Although we can all admit that some of them are medically necessary, many American women go on to have a c-section because of reasons such as provider convenience (think of the Mon-Fri 5pm and 6am c-sections) , unevidenced based care (think of rules such as automatic c-section if your water is broken for 24 hours) or being persuaded by fear due to not being educated enough on the topic to ask for other options (think of unnecessary inductions or fear of a “big baby”).

In today’s Midwife Monday video, Midwife Kira has three simple tips to share with you that can help you not fall into those high c-section rate statistics unnecessarily.
