Drunk Woman Miraculously Survives Horrific Crash Into the Woods

Around 2:14 AM on February 8, 2025, Patrolman Ryan Durkin with the Chester Police Department responded to a report of motor vehicle accident on North Road in the vicinity of Warren Cutting Road. He arrived on scene and noticed that a blue 2013 BMW X3 had crashed into the woods. He made contact with the driver of the BMW, who was identified as Duygu Worrall. The BMW had struck a series of series and sustained severe front-end damages. There was airbag deployment inside the vehicle, and there were even indicators that Duygu was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Duygu told the officer that she was following her friend Ashley Christie Borges, but she eventually lost sight of her car. When she lost sight of her friend’s car, she claimed that she looked at her phone and that caused her to driver off the roadway into the woods. After she contacted her friend, Ashley returned to the scene and called 911 upon finding the crash.

As he was speaking with Duygu and Ashley, Patrolman Durkin detected the odor of alcohol emanating from both individuals. Ashley later said that they were coming from the Black River Barn, a bar in Randolph Township. Both Ashley and Duygu were asked to perform field sobriety exercises. Ashley passed the field sobriety exercises, while Duygu failed them. Duygu was evaluated by first responders, but declined to be transported to the hospital.

Based on the motor vehicle crash, her lack of coherence, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety exercises, Duygu was placed under arrest for DWI. Her vehicle was impounded by Action Towing for a 12-hour hold according to John’s Law. Patrolman Durkin initially transported Duygu to the nearby Washington Township Police Department for the administration of the breath test.

At the station, the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.11%, which was above the legal limit of 0.08%. Duygu was then transported back to the Chester Police Department so they could finish their paperwork. After they finished processing Duygu at the Chester Police Department, she was released to her friend Ashley pending her court appearance after she signed the Potential Liability Warning on Duygu’s behalf.

Patrolman Durkin issued Duygu the following traffic tickets:
-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)
-Reckless driving (39:4-96)
-Traffic on marked lanes (39:4-88)

As of January 10, 2026, Duygu’s case is still pending in court.
